Clairaudience is the gift of clear hearing. This ability can start to open up at any age and allows you to hear messages from those in Spirit. They may speak to you externally or internally, meaning they may speak to you within your own mind or from your surroundings. Like many psychic abilities, clairaudients are already using their gifts and haven’t realized it yet.
When clairaudience opens up, many people experience ringing in their ears, a change in ear pressure, like popping or buzzing. At this point, you may hear voices.
Clairaudience versus mental illness
Clairaudience is very different than having voices in your head. Most of us have an inner monologue that runs throughout the day, whether we realize it or not, and this is not a form of clairaudience.
It is also important to know that clairaudience is different from mental illness. The only thing that clairaudience and mental illness have in common is voices within the head. Clairaudient mediums can turn the voices on or off.
Spirit voices are seldom constant, instead, they’re brief and to the point because they know they have a short opportunity to get their message across via the clairaudient person. Spirit voices will also engage in a true conversation with you and will not block your functionality, nor will they suggest risky or harmful behaviors.
With clairaudience comes the gift of clear speaking. This allows you to speak, share, and channel the messages coming in from Spirit.
If you’re in research mode and aren’t sure whether or not you’re clairaudient, here are some signs that may help you find your answer.
- You hear your name when no one is around. Perhaps you wake up thinking someone has been calling your name or you hear soft voices in the background, but you SWEAR you hear someone saying your name just now.
- You often talk to yourself. If you spend time troubleshooting and thinking of responses you would give in certain situations, it’s a good indicator that you’re clairaudient. Calming yourself down after a traumatic or stressful situation is also a sign that points to clairaudience because in these moments you are engaging in a conversation with Spirit.
- You crave the quiet. Most intuitives need time to decompress and regroup, which means they should spend some time in silence. Too much noise stresses them out physically and emotionally. If you feel drained after attending a loud concert, party, or when the TV is on for too long, it’s probable that you’re clairaudient.
- You often hear knocking, creaking, or footsteps. Movies and TV shows will have us believe that these noises are evidence that our homes are haunted but that’s often not the case. Hearing these noises is an excellent sign that you’re hearing the movement of Spirit. You may have been in the room with someone before and thought they spoke, so you’ll ask, “Did you say something?”
These are just a few of the signs that you may be clairaudient. If you’re looking to find out more or would like to speak to someone who has been through the same thing you’re experiencing, look for a modern shaman, medium, or spiritual coach on TribeFinder today.
