One of the coolest things about energy work is that it doesn’t have to be done in person. Energy knows no time or space. Therefore it can be “sent” into the future or across a great distance. The result is the same; the recipient, assuming he or she is willing to accept, will receive the healing energy. This type of exchange could be completed over the phone, Skype, or at a specific time determined by the recipient and the practitioner.

Many of us enjoy the personal connection that comes with in-person services, but sometimes being together in the same physical space just isn’t feasible. With energy healing and other holistic medicine therapies, we’re connecting with the person’s energy body, which means we’re working with the physical, emotional, and mental aspects of the person. Since we can work with the subtle energy body from anywhere and at any time, we don’t have to be in the same space as the practitioner.

Stepping outside of the time and space box

We’re taught essentially from the moment we’re born that we live in a physical reality that is both dual and conditional. This means that we’re taught to perceive reality in terms of time and space and as a result, we’re boxed into this paradigm that time only moves one way – forward.

When we see reality from inside this box, we become firmly rooted in the physical world. At the same time, it limits our natural abilities to manifest change and self-healing. Those who are trained in energy work, including traditional shamanic healers, will tell you that time is only an illusion.

Why does the illusion exist? Because we’re taught to believe it and therefore we stay grounded and focused on our daily activities. In truth, this perception is such a limited perspective or bandwidth, and we do ourselves a disservice by believing that life experiences are limited to the here and now. Time and space can be transcended and used for our benefit with a little practice.

Sending healing energy to others

Energy work is a vast ocean, and without getting too deep into it today, we’re taking a brief look at distance healing. When someone doing distance healing facilitates a session, he or she is stepping outside of space and time. A practitioner can do this in a variety of ways. For instance, the practitioner might use Theta healing to help the client. During this type of work, the practitioner focuses on slowing his or her brainwaves to the theta state, which is sort of like a waking dream.

A second distance healing technique that’s gaining popularity is Reiki. With Reiki, the focus is to connect to the Divine or Universal energy that is designed to help us. This energy knows no time or bounds and the supply is endless. In most Reiki programs, practitioners are taught how to do specific distance techniques to help clients around the globe.

And there’s always prayer. Our minds can manifest so much more than we’re taught to believe. If we come from a place of love and light, praying for someone’s health and well-being can go a long way. We can reach out to our guides and angels or connect with Source energy to send our intentional thoughts and prayers to the person. If you’re not someone who is trained in an energy modality yet, start with that!
